Step 1
Before beginning extractions cleanse the skin thoroughly and apply steam to open up the pores.
Step 2
When you are ready to begin place the tines (the curved part of the tips) on each side of the blackhead. If you are extracting a closed comedone you will notice a ‘whitish’ circle around the opening, adjust the instrument tips accordingly. The Blackhead tweezes allow much more precision than a comedone extractor because you can adjust the width to the size of the lesion, comedone extractors are a set size.
Step 3
Gently apply slow and even pressure on each side of the blackhead below the level of the opening of the lesion. Make sure you are using enough pressure so you are not just scraping the surface. Begin to gently and slowly squeeze the lesion until it begins to release. Once you are able to, lightly pinch the tweezers and pull the blackhead or debris out if the skin.
Step 4
Finish your treatment as you normally would after a facial making sure to spot treat the areas of extraction with an antimicrobial agent.
